Good morning. It's Friday!
Today's story about California's District 1 Senator Megan Dahle began after a review of data from CalMatters legislative tracker. Among other things, the tracker documents how many words legislators speak in comparison to their peers. As I watched the tracker for months, Dahle's verbal expression on the senate floor lagged behind almost every one of her peers. It left me wondering ... Why was she speaking so few words? And was that lack of speech impacting her constituents?
Reporter Moe Shimizu's story provides answers to those questions, as shared from Dahle's perspective.
