Tuesday, February 24, 9am - Shasta County Board of Supervisors
The board will:
- Discuss the recent actions by the County Clerk/Registrar of Voters and the alleged misuse of public funds for electioneering and campaigning. This is returning to the board for a second time, to allow for public comment.
- Appoint Scott Pewitt as the District 4 representative to the Planning Commission to serve the remainder of a four-year term.
- Approve a renewal agreement with Shasta County Office of Education (SCOE), at a cost of about $385,000, to provide the Community Connect Program.
- Appoint Karen Gryszan and Janet Giddings to the Public Health Advisory Board.
- Receive a presentation from Justin Bond, CEO and founder of Our Heroes’ Dreams and consider providing $250,000 in opioid settlement funds for the treatment of substance use among veterans.
- Consider a number of mid-year budget amendments including some that impact the Health and Human Services Agency budget. The staff report indicates when it comes to HHSA that: "adjustments result in an overall decrease to appropriations in the amount of $11,328,488 and revenue in the amount of 5,973,789 resulting in an overall savings of Net County Cost in the amount of $5,354,699."
- Consider applications from Stephen McCarley and Michael Moffat and appoint one of the two to the Shasta Mosquito and Vector Control District Board of Trustees.
- address two agenda items related to approving electric vehicle charging stations, in order to come into compliance with state law. See the first, here.
